California and National Elections

About This Site

Election 2002 is a project of the first-year reporting classes at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California at Berkeley. Students covered local, state and national election races, constantly updating their stories throughout the evening.

Coverage was coordinated by instructors Susan Rasky and Linda Strean, and stories were edited by instructors Lydia Chavez, Cynthia Gorney, Rob Gunnison, and Neil Henry. The Web site was created by J-School Webmaster Scot Hacker, using the Movable Type database publishing system. Web assistants and second-year students Chris O'Connell and Pam Reynolds were in charge of posting and updating the stories, while students in Ken Light's photojournalism classes shot the pictures used with the stories.
