California and National Elections

About This Site

Election 2004 is a project of the first-year reporting classes at the Graduate School of Journalism of the University of California at Berkeley. Students covered local, state and national election races, constantly updating their stories throughout the evening.

Coverage was coordinated by instructors Susan Rasky, Rob Gunnison, and Neil Henry. Stories were contributed by students in instructor Lydia Chavez's class, and edited by the professors and second-year student assistants Steven Bodzin, Daniel Freed, Daniel Moulthrop and Matthew Wheeland. The Web site was created by J-School Webmaster Scot Hacker, using the Movable Type database publishing system. Web assistants and second-year students Daniel Moulthrop and Matthew Wheeland were in charge of posting and updating the stories, while students in Ken Light's photojournalism classes shot the pictures used with the stories.
