Inside Oakland is a project of five students at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. We created Inside Oakland to give an online voice to Oakland communities often overlooked in the vast terrain of cyberspace. Our goal is to deliver high-quality multimedia journalism that reflects the rich Oakland community.

The stories contained in our site are all written by students at the journalism school and by members of the Oakland community. Many of these stories were adapted from our companion newspaper by the same name, which was published as a free insert in the Oakland Post every Sunday during the month of April.

We hope you find useful information and inspiration in our stories, and we hope you will join us by posting to our "talk back" message boards and sending us e-mail. We look forward to hearing from you.
