On Friday, I called my
cousin to see what he was doing that evening, and
if he wasn't doing anything, to ask would he like
to go to the clubs. Of course he was going to accept
my offer -- even though he lived in Hercules,
down by the Pinole area, he still liked to come
out here because all the bomb parties are out
here.
Getting ready to go to
the clubs isn't easy because you want to look
your best. I went through four to five outfits,
mix-matching them up before I found what I wanted
to wear. I put on a green terry cloth shirt with
a black t-shirt under it, my black overalls and
my black and green Nike Air Uptempos. I even had
the Nike socks on to match. My hair was short cut
with the sides faded and waves forming circles
around my head. And I always make sure I'm
smelling as good as possible, so I always carry
gum just in case.
It had been two hours
since I called my cousin. I began to get
impatient, so I got on the phone to call my fine
girlfriend. As the phone rang the second time, I
forgot all about my cousin coming to pick me up.
All I could think of was how incredible this girl
was to me. Her name is Tonya. She has the
prettiest smile I have ever seen in my life. Her
lips form so perfectly. Her eyes are like the
color of the sand on a tropical beach, and her
legs, oh her legs are so soft and smooth. By the
fifth ring, her answering machine came on. Where
could she be, I thought. Well, I'll just leave
her a message and end it with I love
you.
I called my cousin, but
there was no answer. So I paged him to find out
what was going on. Five minutes went by and then
the phone rang. I answered the phone with an
angry loud voice, and my cousin began to explain
what had happened to him. He ended up at his
girlfriend's house and they were planning on
going to a romantic candle-lit dinner for two.
Now, I'm stuck at home
with nothing to do, don't have nowhere else to
go, and if I did, I wouldn't have a way there.
And I don't even know where my boo is. Is this
the way I planned to spend Friday night? Hell no.
