Katherine Rose

Katherine is a first-year audio journalism student and a reporter for Oakland North at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to enrollment, she spent several years working in public schools, including two as a Teach for America corps member in rural Alabama. Her experiences living and working in underserved communities inform her interest in reporting with a focus on rural issues, social justice, and education. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
