In search for a quiet place to work, producer Reis Thebault sought out his neighborhood coffee shop — but his neighbors quickly distracted him, inspiring him to write this commentary instead. Told in three short chapters, this story begins in diatribe and ends in introspection.

I moved from Louisiana to California in August, stuffing all my belongings into a navy blue Volkswagen. I mentally prepared myself for the move and West Coast things such as earthquakes, but I didn’t prepare myself for the weed usage.
