The Latin American Network Information Center, at the University of Texas at Austin, offers a variety of academic research resources and links to articles and sites about Cuba. Radio Havana Cuba, the first Cuban international shortwave radio station, was officially inaugurated on May 1, 1961. Born as an alternative to international news agencies and stations that distort the image of the island's revolutionary process, Radio Havana Cuba has been a Cuban voice devoted to broadcasting the island's social, economy and political panorama.
