A Tale of Two East Bay Skate Parks

California is the birthplace of action sports like skateboarding and rollerblading.

While both of these sports saw huge participatory growth in their own times, the spaces where you can do them legally haven’t kept pace.

Some parks are old and need a facelift. And cities like Oakland aren’t committing public money to their construction.
