Birdland Jazzista Social Club was a a raucous, energetic, beloved music venue in Oakland. On February 27, it closed it’s doors for the last time.
Ariel Plotnick sat down with fellow journalism school reporters Marc Vartebedian and Craig Hickerson to talk about the video they produced, profiling the rise and fall of the one-of-a-kind jazz club.
