Earnestine

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party in Oakland, and Former Panthers have been celebrating all month. North Gate Radio’s Corey Rose continues his series on this anniversary year with a story about Earnestine Leathers. When she was 15, Earnestine ran away from home and accidentally joined the first Black Panther Party chapter to be formed in the South, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
