Undocumented and Unafraid

The 2016 election mobilized people across the country. Across the political spectrum, many felt a sense of political urgency. For Juan Prieto, a young undocumented activist in the Bay Area, life has always been inherently political and filled with trauma. But a critical part of the movement is a feeling of empowerment within the young, undocumented community. Though now can boldly stand behind a megaphone, leading chants and marching down streets, he didn’t always feel this way.

Reporter Nuria Marquez Martinez brings us the story of how this young activist found his platform.
